Relieved that the Danish government has put their stake on culture, and allowed all events/concerts/theatres to continue their work, this years Danish Music Awards Jazz was celebrated LIVE in Copenhagen, at a show with 350 audiences + live TV and live radio broadcast. 6 bands performed live and 10 prizes was handed out: 5 to this years releases and 5 special prizes to bands, events and achievements.
As the first jazz prize in Europe (we think?) JazzDanmark introduced blind listening for the academy this year, to avoid unconsious bias and to improve diversity among the nominees. The winners can be viewed on our website jazzdanmark.dk.
