Jazz Camp for Girls online experience
On Saturday 6 March Jazz North is running an online jazz camp with delivery partners BlueJam Arts, Conductive Music, Creative Heights, Women in Jazz Media and J Frisco. The camp will run on Zoom using breakout rooms as multiple teaching spaces. Due to the difficulty of coordinated music making, most of the sessions have been designed to be accessible without needing to play an instrument. In response to the ongoing challenging situation for the jazz industry in the north, Jazz NOrth has been offering one-off bursaries to jazz artists, promoters, educators and other jazz professionals living and working in the north of England, of up to £500 (570 Euro). These funds can be spent on any aspect of a persons work and professional development that would help then progress through the current climate. This scheme is also providing Jazz North with the opportunity to access the needs of the sector by analysing the application requests.
