We are very excited and grateful that LantarenVenster (Rotterdam), TivoliVredenburg (Utrecht), Paradox (Tilburg) and BIMHUIS (Amsterdam) will work with us on the selection and presentation of this year’s best new sounds in Dutch jazz. Dutch musicians have hardly been playing live lately, but this doesn’t mean they have refrained from making new music. Music that is meant to be heard and enjoyed by audiences and programmers alike!
What is happening with inJazz?
Together with some of the most famous Dutch jazz venues, inJazz is taking the initiative to share a choice of new programs in two occasions: at the end of June and the end of November. We will be showing short features on a total of 16 bands, containing new music and an interview with band members and promoters. Expect unheard, crispy fresh sounds, pre-recorded to preserve the best quality possible, streamed and presented to a national and international group of jazz professionals from festivals, jazz venues, labels, publishing and media.
Aside from the showcase packages, inJazz is working on effective ways to connect these bands in matchmaking sessions to a group of promoters from all over the globe.
How does it work?
Together with our partners we have decided to open for submissions of new music in audio or video form from today, February 16, until March 8 at midnight.
We will treat the selection process with care and as serious as possible!
A small but seasoned committee will pick those musicians/bands that highlight the state of jazz in the Netherlands. After the selection a schedule will be made of which band will have a recording session in either LantarenVenster, TivoliVredenburg, Paradox, or BIMHUIS. We will record 15 to 20 minutes of music and an additional interview with insights and news about the band. This will be edited down to a video presentation of max. 30 minutes.
Note: We are aiming for more than just a recording of a live performance. Feel free to come up with concepts to make this more interesting for the audience.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity!
Send us your submissions, as we don’t want to miss that special project that has not yet been shared widely with promoters.
And promoters: stay tuned on Dutch Jazz!
The selection is only open to musicians who are members of Buma/Stemra (bands: a majority of the band members) - or that mainly play repertoire by Buma/Stemra members.
