Tuck & Patti's new album, We Are Gonna Be Friends, was produced and recorded by their rockstar niece, Annie Clark (known as St. Vincent), and mixed by Tuck & Patti.
Tuck: "We spent the first two months of 2018 touring with Annie and opening her shows, and one day she said, 'Hey, guys, why don't you come down to my studio for two days and we'll record a children's album!' With no more planning than that, two weeks later, during a break in the tour, we arrived at her house the night before the sessions. We figured we'd record easy, traditional children's songs, but she and Patti started brainstorming over a bottle of wine, and all of a sudden we had a brand new songlist, eight of which we'd never played."
Patti: "That gave us two hours per song to find it on the internet, learn the music and lyrics, arrange it and record it! It was absolutely crazy, but we pulled it off. At the end, I asked Annie, 'Have you ever recorded an album in two days?' Her answer: 'Hell, no!'"
Tuck: 'It turned out to be an album for children, parents and grandparents alike, our duo approach to ten delightful songs that almost everybody will recognize. It turned out to be a really sweet, intimate, sonically beautiful album, and we hope everyone will enjoy it for years to come."

Born in Guinea and known as the master of the Kora which he makes resonate in a modern way, Sékou Kouyaté expresses his art through this traditional instrument.
At twelve, he adapted his kora by electrifying it and experimenting with fast riffs and distortions, inspired by funk and jazz.
Offering an instant, spontaneous and vibrant creation, imbued with the Mandingo sounds of the Kora and all the influences
of these three heterogeneous musicians with rich backgrounds of encounters.
The multi-awarded Kouyate's music is rooted in his West African traditions and influenced by the contemporary Blues, Soul, Funk and Jazz, that has also been his early inspirations. Sekou Kouyate solo album SABARU, One World Records 2015, won the GOLD MEDAL GLOBAL MUSIC AWARDS 2015, and was selected for 'World Music Charts Europe Best 100 Albums 2016.

The ensemble is minimal—a vocalist, an electric bassist and a drummer. That's it. The musicians' creative output is anything but.
Vocalist Mariangela Cagnetta is an incredibly versatile, talented and mature artist. She has terrific vocal chops across the session. It takes a highly competent and involved singer to walk this type of tightrope. Cagnetta is right at home communicating and responding magnificently with ace bassist, Viz Maurogiovanni and master drummer, Pierluigi Villani. She's a gem.
Bassist Maurogiovanni, a regular contributor to drummer Villani's sessions, is a Miroslav Vitous acolyte displaying incredible technical proficiency, deep drive and a bopper's heart.
Villani has proven over the years that he's hands-down a world-class musician. They are both creatively outstanding on this session.
