Snowpoet: Wait For Me

We are thrilled to welcome back the brilliant Snowpoet, as we celebrate our first in-person audiences for 2021! Ushering in the long, heady days of summer with their ethereal sound, Snowpoet present a special event, performing their latest album Wait for Me (recorded during lockdown) live for the very first time.

A band built around the coveted skills of award winning Irish vocalist and composer Lauren Kinsella and producer Chris Hyson, Snowpoet formed in London in 2013 with a passion for song writing and a desire to celebrate the common ground between modern folk, sung poetry and ambient electronica. Their music has been described as ‘beautiful, delicate, intricate music (Mary Anne Hobbs, BBC 6 Music) and with ‘elusive beauty and penetrating lyrics’ (The Irish Times).

Their 2016 debut album Snowpoet drew comparisons to artists such as Björk while citing influences as diverse as Joni Mitchell. Their follow up album released on Edition records in 2018 Thought You Knew was heralded by National Public Radio (USA) as one of the best albums of 2018 and cited as an album that ‘opposed cliches in every possible direction’ (For Folks Sake). Wait For Me is a bold, flowing statement, exploring the question of how we love and how we let go in a time of profound confusion.

The house will be open half an hour before the performance. Please arrive in plenty of time to ensure social distancing as we seat the audience. Face coverings are required unless you are medically exempt.
