2-day festival in cooperation with NICA
On January 7-8, 2022, the 11th edition of the music festival 'Winterjazz Köln' will be held. For the first time on two days thanks to the cooperation with NICA artist development. Designed to represent Cologne's strong jazz scene, 'Winterjazz Köln’ is a festival for aficionados, professionals, curious, loyal and new audiences. A total of more than 20 bands from Cologne and North Rhine-Westfalia will perform on the three stages at Stadtgarten Köln, including 10 current projects by NICA artists Heidi Bayer, Leif Berger, Elisabeth Coudoux, Pablo Giw, Pablo Held, Tamara Lukasheva, Sonae, Janning Trumann, Laura Totenhagen and Philip Zoubek.

The 11th edition of the "Winterjazz Köln" festival, which was to take place from January 7 to 8, 2022 in cooperation with NICA artist development in the Stadtgarten Köln, unfortunately had to be canceled due to the current Corona situation. Since then, we were working at full speed to make the music of the program audible to the public in its freshness and spirit of exploration.
This resulted in the new webisodes series "Winterjazz in Space", which is now available on https://stadtgarten.de/media.
‘NICA artist development’ offers outstanding musicians from the German state North Rhine-Westphalia a platform for artistic profiling and professionalisation of their careers in the field of jazz and contemporary music. The programme is created by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the state North Rhine-Westphalia and managed by the European Centre for Jazz and Contemporary Music at Stadtgarten in Cologne.
