The photo project “Ukrainian Jazzmen at War” aims to tell the stories of jazz musicians who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Territorial Defence with weapons in their hands. Their current photos were taken by soldiers just like them, and only the pictures from their concert life were taken by professional photographers. Among them are such famous musicians as Volodymyr Likhoshva, Olexander Lebedenko, Mark Tokar, Danylo Vinarikov, Oleksander Remez and others.
While exploring the history of each musician, you can also listen to their music via QR codes on their music resources. The project was initiated by the Ukrainian Institute and was produced in partnership with Jazzography.in.ua. The project premier took place at WOMEX in Lisbon this year.
