Courtney Pine joins us at Turner Sims on Sunday 29th September as he marks his 60th birthday year with a special edition of his award-winning project House of Legends. Deeply steeped in the traditions of the Caribbean, House of Legends sees Courtney on top form. He brings musicians from Africa, the Caribbean and Europe together to tell tales of life from a truly multi-cultural viewpoint.
Other jazz highlights this season include renowned UK jazz vocalist and multi-award winner Claire Martin OBE with the Martin Sjöstedt Trio on Thursday 3rd of October as they perform music from their new collaborative release Almost in Your Arms.
Exciting and fast-emerging young jazz artist Sultan Stevenson takes the stage with his brilliant trio on Thursday 31st of October to perform music from his 2023 debut album Faithful One (Whirlwind Recordings).
The Norwegian pianist and composer Tord Gustavsen returns to Turner Sims on Saturday 16th November with his trio. Expect jazz blended with ‘Nordic’ reflective moods and lyrical beauty as the trio perform music from his tenth studio album on ECM Records.
