Open Call for Salhane Stage:
Bozcaada Jazz Festival, which has made the inspiring geography of Bozcaada its home since 2017, is getting ready to welcome music lovers for its 9th edition between September 5–7 this year.
In its ninth year, Bozcaada Jazz Festival is excited to announce an open call for new sounds and discoveries to be showcased on the Salhane Stage! This call is open to musicians and groups whose work explores jazz, experimental, and improvised music, and who are eager to share their authentic sound. There are no age restrictions or experience requirements; the festival welcomes artists at any stage of their musical journey who are passionate about sharing their unique voice. The results of the open call will be announced on April 30, World Jazz Day.
About Bozcaada Jazz Festival:
In its 9th year, Bozcaada Jazz Festival offers an exploration and experience-focused gathering by bringing together jazz, improvisational, and new music. With concerts throughout the day, daytime parties, and special events held in various parts of the island, the festival creates a unique atmosphere that unites interdisciplinary communities. By bringing together globally recognized contemporary musicians, creative organizations, and inspiring communities, the festival curates a program that harmonizes with the cultural and geographical fabric of Bozcaada.
Through projects carried out in partnership with KEŞİF and with the support of international partners, the festival aims to broaden the boundaries of jazz in Turkey. It also brings music into dialogue with social impact through initiatives like Jazz Camp for Girls (supported by Nordisk Kulturfond & JazzDanmark), entering its third year in 2025, and Building Bridges with Jazz (supported by the U.S. Embassy). As a member of the European Jazz Network, and one of the founding members of the Turkey Jazz Network—sown in 2020—the festival develops joint programs with significant organizations such as Amsterdam Bimhuis, and the jazz festivals of Athens, Stockholm, and Luxembourg. It promises a jazz experience that resonates globally while staying true to the spirit of Bozcaada.
