Clasijazz is a cultural center located in Almería, southern Spain, focused on spreading jazz music through concerts and workshops, and managed in the form of a cultural association. It started as a small rehearsal room in 1998, and thanks to the involvement of hundreds of local members it has today became the main reference for modern music in the city. Barry Harris, Gary Bartz, Brad Mehldau, and Maria Schnieder are some of the stars that have stepped onto the stage.
Clasijazz is also a music school where both adults and children take part. It has its own rehearsal room, halls and restaurant, offering many events that involve music with science, film, dance, food, and other artistic disciplines. Clasijazz also counts with its own artistic projects, from a classical orchestra to an all-female jazz Big Band. However, the main project is the Clasijazz Big Band, an international jazz orchestra that offers both online and live concerts with several recording albums and tours. Clasijazz is an exciting project that brings the community together with music and culture.
Culture for us is a basic need. There are no limits to creativity in our schemas.
