Institut français

The national institute for promoting French culture abroad. They have a large network of cultural centres spread throughout the world, and depending on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs ambassies. They give funding and performance space for visiting French artists and facilitate collaborations with local artists. Within national borders, the Institut français hosts each year a “cultural season” dedicated to one country (Portugal is scheduled in 2022).
