ABOUT
The Finnish Jazz Federation was founded in September 1966 as a mutual national organization for both jazz musicians and music enthusiastics. Nowadays the Federation acts as an umbrella organization for its 46 member organizations in Finland. The Finnish Jazz Federation supports its members mainly by organizing tours, and instructing the local members running the associations. The Federation works throughout Finland, and abroad as well.
One of the main functions of the Finnish Jazz Federation is tour organizing in Finland. In addition to organizing tours and events for Finnish bands in Finland, the federation operates internationally on several projects, such as the Nordic Jazz network with the Nordic concert organizers and the Heimojazz exchange project with the Estonian Jazz Federation.
