We commission full-length albums featuring top-tier jazz musicians who share a joy in the common language of the standard repertoire. We then make these albums available within the Jazz Master Tracks app, where they become fully interactive for purposes of practice and close analysis.

Internalizing the standards, understanding the harmony, listening to the individual players and transcribing the masters is a time-honored way to learn the jazz language. Being able to listen to each instrument in solo mode allows you to hear every detail, every breath. Easy navigation and bookmarks help you learn the phrases by ear — by far the most efficient way. The benefits of transcription cannot be overemphasized: your ears, technique and memory are trained simultaneously. The app also allows you to interact with the recordings, either as a soloist or as part of the rhythm section. You get the chance to participate in the exciting performance of a great band. The user interface is simple and intuitive, and made for musicians. The main view permits easy navigation and the looping of entire parts for playing along. The zoom view has lots of tools for making transcribing easy.
Tailored to the practicing musician, Jazz Master Tracks offers a catalog of exciting sessions as “Albums in an App,” ideal for learning, analyzing, transcribing and playing along, for both soloists and rhythm section. The albums are created specifically for the Jazz Master Tracks app. Each full album is available as an in-app purchase. Purchasing an “Album in an App” loads the album into the dedicated stem player as a practice tool with the full range of features. It also permits you to download the hi-fi stereo mix of the album to your personal music library for listening on other devices.
