EJC2024: Young Curators Programme

De Centrale / 20:00 - 00:40

The Young Curators Program during European Jazz Conference offers nine young jazz enthusiasts - Rutger Mathys, Stan Maris, Kobe Gregoir, Nele Uyttendaele, Ferre Heyvaerts, Ewout Janssens, Anton Robberechts, Warre Vanhoutte and Joris Vanschoren - the opportunity to develop their curatorial skills and share their vision with the European music sector.

They selected three promising young Belgian jazz acts whom they believe deserve international recognition. During this process, they were mindful of the platform they were shaping and chose to create a program featuring artists with little to no professional support, but who possess international potential. Discover all about the selected musicians in the official program.

Join us September 12th in the basement of De Centrale and enjoy the show, which will be opened by a cosy vinylmarket and vinyl DJ.

Elis Floreen
Elis Floreen is a contemporary music artist, songwriter, singer & producer. Her songs are the result of colourful, intricate and unpredictable storytelling. Her childhood was always full of music from the sixties, seventies and eighties, which Elis picked up spontaneously and now weaves into her songwriting. On stage, she creates a world of avant-garde folk pop to immerse yourself in, stories to lose yourself to and songs to sway or dance to. Think of Kate Bush, Kadhja Bonet, Paul Simon & Natalia Lafourcade.

KAU
KAU is an instrumental music project based in Brussels. Representing various European backgrounds, their meeting happened in the spirit of the city they grew up in. Line-up: Jan Janzen (keys/synths), Matteo Genovese (bass) & André Breidlid (drums).
