Artist mobility & Touring

Wherever possible:

1. Do not schedule performances with artists, not on tour, for whom a one-off intercontinental journey is required.

2. Avoid flying if the travel time is less than 5-6 hours and use train or public transport.

BENEFITS EXAMPLE

3. Contact promoters and agents to help construct the tour itinerary while minimising the use of environmentally harmful means of transport.

4. Use only electric/hybrid cars, electric/hybrid taxis, collective transport. and provide options for public transport if available, for short distance transfers (e.g., from airports/train stations/hotels).

5. Involve artists in promoting sustainable mobility, starting with their own journeys, to raise awareness among their fans about the impact of transport.

Replacing six-artist trips (three at a distance of 600km and three at a distance of 200km) by plane with equivalent trips by train, the CO2 emissions would drop from 6.91t to 0.48t, a reduction of 6.43t CO2.
