With pleasure we inform you on the launch of our latest internet project called jazzheroes. This website (in dutch: jazzhelden.nl), offers 100 filmed portraits of Dutch musicians such as Han Bennink, Eric Vloeimans, Benjamin Herman and many more.
The first 67 jazzportraits were presented last week in Rotterdam with more to follow later this year. Each in depth interview lasts 30 minutes, intertwined with videoclips and audio from concerts. Futher information on each musician is offered through a biography, discography, newspaperclippings and photo’s.
A timeline of Dutch jazzhistory is also made available on the website. A variety of videoclips highlight individual historical periods, augmented by textual explanation. Venues festivals and media will be given unlimited access to use the webiste in order to enhance their online information on musicians and dutch jazzhistory. Educational project are also in the making which will use the webiste as a learningtool.
For the time being the website is only available in the dutch language. An english version of the website is planned for next year. In the meantime plase visit: www.jazzhelden.nl
