Like France, French jazz has always been built and enriched by the successive migrations that still mark its history, each bringing a new look, new resources and ways to compose and share music. From the Caribbean to Cameroon, from the Mediterranean to the Central African Republic, today it's all a generation who calls jazz to its roots. For this 6th edition, French Quarter operation, carried by the Paris Jazz Club non-profit organization, puts on the front of mythical stages of New York and Montreal these artists who contribute intensively to the recognition of today’s french jazz.
Innovative showcases intended to promote the vitality of the new French jazz scene to professionals worldwide, French Quarter will set up this year 4 emblematic clubs: the Bitter End as part of the prestigious Winter Jazz Festival, the Smalls Jazz Club, which host the French Quarter since the very first edition, Nublu for the first time, and L’Astral, permanent venue of the Montreal International Jazz Festival. French Quarter is made possible thanks to the support of its partners: ADAMI, SACEM, SPEDIDAM, FCM, BNP PARIBAS Foundation, Marseille Jazz Festival of the Five Continents, French Institute, Export Office, French Embassy in the United States - FAJE Program.
