I arrived in Austria on Friday evening, so I had the chance to walk around and get to know the beautiful Saalfelden and its surroundings during the weekend, before my actual work started on Monday. I visited the museum to learn about the history of the area, and made long walks admiring the wonderful nature and especially the mountains around the town.
My work started on Monday morning at Saalfelden tourist office. On Monday and Tuesday I was preparing the artist accreditations, which was a good way to learn the programme of the festival as well. On Wednesday and Thursday I was helping to set up the VIP area, artist office and the dressing rooms for the artists at the main location of the festival, Congress Saalfelden.
During the festival I worked at the artist office. My tasks included welcoming the artists, helping them to find their way to the dressing rooms and the stage, coordinating press interviews and answering any questions artists might have.
I also had time to see some concerts and have a meeting with the press officer of the Saalfelden festival, which was very interesting, as I work as a press officer at my home festival. It was interesting to hear how things are organized at another festival. Thank you very much for EJN and International Jazzfestival Saalfelden for this unique experience!
