Marja Mortensson and Daniel Herskedal - Green Pilot Tour
"The tour consisted of 4 cities in 4 countries: Coutances (France), Leuven (Belgium), Cologne (Germany) and Nijmegen (the Netherlands) and was accompanied by Marja Mortensson's baby. Therefore the mean of transport was chosen accordingly to accommodate the touring duo, their sound technician and the baby-sitter who could take care of the baby during concerts, recording session and sound checks/rehearsals."
The Green Pilot Tour is one of the most valuable and stimulating initiative of Europe Jazz Network. As members we can directly benefit form the financial support. It also motivates festivals and clubs to rethink their sustainability methods and encourages us to improve the content in this matter.
The tour of Norwegian joik singer Marja Mortensson and tuba player Daniel Herskedal was organised by Marja's agent in Europe, Tinka Steinhoff. She helped with collecting partners and with filling some of the partners' sides of the application. Otherwise the work was done by us, the leaders, that is Music Meeting Festival. The tour consisted of 4 cities in 4 countries: Coutances (France), Leuven (Belgium), Cologne (Germany) and Nijmegen (the Netherlands) and was accompanied by Marja Mortensson's baby. Therefore the mean of transport was chosen accordingly to accommodate the touring duo, their sound technician and the baby-sitter who could take care of the baby during concerts, recording session and sound checks/rehearsals. We were lucky not to have weather disturbances or logistics problems on the tour, so all concerts took place as planned with en extra addition that was the recording session by the Dutch tv VPRO. The concert recording emission is planned for July 2023 and we will be happy to share it with all the members once it is out.
