For the 7th consecutive year, the Europe Jazz Media group celebrates International Women’s Day (8 March) with a collaborative editorial initiative highlighting women artists across the European jazz scene.
The 2026 edition, titled “Milestones”, focuses on significant moments and achievements in the artistic journeys of women shaping today’s jazz landscape. It involves 8 European jazz magazines from Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Ukraine and the UK in a common edition on the occasion of #IWD2026.
Each European jazz media outlet is publishing a portrait or interview with a female artist. The articles are then translated and shared across the participating platforms, creating a multilingual editorial project released simultaneously across different countries. Through this collective effort, readers can discover a wide range of musicians and perspectives, while the participating media collaborate to amplify the visibility of these artists across Europe. The project highlights emerging talents and distinctive voices from across the continent, reflecting the diversity and vitality of today’s jazz and imprvised music scene.
EJN supports the initiative in connection with our #WomenToTheFore campaign, which promotes gender balance and the visibility of women in jazz and creative music.
These are the artists featured in the 2026 edition. The links are directing to the articles in the original languages, but translation in English and in the other languages of the media outlets area also on each of the web portals.
