When I arrived at the festival on the Monday before it all kicked off, I took a thorough tour of the grounds to get a feel for the setup. This gave me a great perspective on the logistics involved. I also had a bunch of meetings with people from different departments, which were really insightful for understanding the challenges and strategies of running such a big event. I was constantly jotting down notes, trying to absorb as much as I could.
Over the weekend, I got to enjoy a ton of concerts, covering a wide range of musical genres. These shows were not just fun but also gave me valuable insights into how the festival handles its programming and engages with the audience.
The last day, Monday, was all about seeing the deconstruction and packing up process. I had a few final meetings to wrap up my learnings and walked around the site to watch the take-down. It gave me a full picture of the festival's lifecycle, from start to finish, and showed me how much careful planning goes into each part.
The NN North Sea Jazz Festival has been an amazing learning experience. Interacting with various departments, observing the setup, and attending diverse concerts have all broadened my understanding of festival management. The knowledge and insights I've gained this week will be significantly helpful in the future. A huge thank you to the NN North Sea Jazz team for this incredible opportunity. It's truly been an adventure of a week.
